Vintage 2007:- 91 points - James Laube, Wine Spectator - Sep 2009
Firm, tight, intense and concentrated, with a trim yet complex band of spicy currant, wild berry, mineral, sage and pebble. Very much a Northern Rhône-styled wine with its structure and minerality. Needs aeration. Best from 2011 through 2018.

This gorgeous 2007 Syrah Mt. Veeder displays a dense purple color in addition to a beautiful perfume of spring flowers, blueberries, raspberries, and cool black currants as well as power and richness allied to elegance and burgeoning complexity. Its texture, purity, full-bodied mouthfeel, ethereal style, impeccable precision, and overall high quality suggest it will provide plenty of pleasure for a decade or more.

Once again Lagier Meredith has fashioned a beautiful, elegant, complex, dark ruby/purple-tinged Syrah Mount Veeder. Wine producer Carol Meredith’s 2006 offers up abundant, complex aromas of flowers, blue and black fruits, forest floor, and earth. The wine possesses sweet tannin, exquisite balance, medium to full body, and no hard edges. Drink this tasty Syrah over the next 7-8 years.

Carole Meredith and Stephen Lagier grow meaty, spicy, floral syrah at their vineyard on Mount Veeder. This vintage is dark and dense, yielding an earthy character against the red cherry flavors in the finish. It's refined and lasting, ready to decant for roast lamb chops and butternut squash.

I have always enjoyed the elegant, French-styled Syrahs from this winery, and this 2005 appears to be the finest they have yet produced. A beautiful deep ruby/purple hue is accompanied by aromas of blueberries, black raspberries, spice, and ground pepper. Displaying a seamless integration of acidity, alcohol, tannin, and wood, winemaker/proprietor Steve Lagier has fashioned a brilliant Syrah offering substance and style. With full body, superb balance, a silky texture, and a fascinating mouthfeel, it can be drunk now as well as over the next 7 - 8 years.

Enticing floral, jasmine, wild berry and blueberry scents fold over on the palate, giving this sleek, focused youngster a tight beam of fruit and a touch of sage and game meat. The tannins are ripe and integrated. Drink now through 2013.

This vintage from Stephen Lagier and Carole Meredith’s vineyard on Mount Veeder is fuller and deeper in tone than the previous two. It needs several hours in a decanter to spread beyond the confines of new oak and ripe fruit, yielding brighter crushed peppercorn scents. Cellar and then serve it with roast boar.
